Face Front or Back? Theater Etiquette

To Face or Not: The Great Theater Squeeze

I’m sure you all know that proper theater etiquette dictates that you should arrive on time, turn-off or silence your cell phone and save the loud unwrapping of candy and chit-chat for after the production.

But, did you know…….

When you need to exit/enter a row and squeeze by  those already seated at a performance, you should FACE them? Most likely, they would prefer to see your smiling face saying “Excuse me, please” instead of your back side. Most likely.

  1. That’s a really good point and something I rarely do. I’m asking myself why? I think I’m afraid of falling backwards down a steep rows of seats. Remedy for myself…get to the theatre early!
